The Micro First Lego League, a robotics competition to be held next Wednesday 24th, will feature prominent professionals and personalities on the various juries of the contest.

The director of the Actua Tech Foundation and manager of the Andorra Sustainability Observatory (OBSA), Marc Pons, and the head of the new technologies section of the Andorran Science Society (SAC), Àlan Ward, will  evaluate the science projects.

The values test will be judged by the Rector of Sant Julià de Lòria, Father Josep Chisvert, and the general councillor, Sílvia Bonet. Finally, the referees will be engineers Guillem Santacreu and Mario Giménez, who know the competition well, as they themselves took part in previous editions as a coach and participant, respectively.

The competition, with a record entry of ten teams from five different schools, begins at 3:00 pm in the Illa Carlemany Cinemas with the presentations of the science and values projects, and at 5:00 pm the doors open to the general public for the robot contest.

The top-ranked teams will earn a place in the First Lego League qualifiers of Catalonia, which will take place later this quarter. The regional contests will produce the participants for the Spanish Grand Final to be held in March, with the first-place finisher securing a place in the World Cup final.

The theme of this year's competition, entitled Hydro Dynamics, explores the relationship between humans and water, presenting the students with challenges of how to manage this resource most efficiently.
