Sixteen students will work at Andorra Telecom this summer

They are undertaking university degree courses and will complement their studies by gaining practical experience at the telecommunications operator
University students and vocational training students will have the opportunity to complement their studies with work experience at Andorra Telecom. A total of sixteen young people will work at the telecommunications operator this summer, during the months of July and August.

The students have been selected according to the courses they are undertaking and will carry out tasks in departments directly related to their academic studies, such as Digital Channels, Applications, Purchases, Business Analytics, Security, Innovation, Building Management and Operations. Thirteen of the students started work on Monday.

The policy of recruiting temporary workers in summer is very highly valued by the company's Department of People and Culture. "It is an opportunity to publicise the employment opportunities that Andorra Telecom offers, and which often go beyond strictly technical fields, offering students professional experience to complement to their studies and, at the same time, allowing us to spot talent with a view to hiring in the future”, said the Head of the Department, Christian Fernàndez.

Álvaro Ortega is one of the longest standing temporary workers. Next year he will be in the fourth year of his degree course in Computer Engineering and it will also be his fourth summer working at Andorra Telecom. He points out that at the telecommunications operator he has had the opportunity to learn many things which are part of, or will be part of, the academic programme at University and, what is more, from a very practical perspective. He also feels rewarded when he comes back year after year and sees that some of the work he has carried out in the past continues to be used internally.

Álvaro is certain that working at Andorra Telecom would be a very positive career choice. He intends to return to Andorra once he finishes his studies and the telecommunications company "is one of those that best suits my professional aspirations”.

Judith Fusté's case is different. She has just finished her degree in Mechanical Aeronautical Engineering and now she is about to start a Master's Degree course. Last summer was the first time she has worked at Andorra Telecom. "I was interested in getting to know the world of telecommunications to help me to decide which Master's Degree course to choose. They helped me with everything. I learned a great deal”, she states. “If not, I wouldn’t have come back”, says Judith with a smile. She will be working in the Media and Content Department.

Although her studies were not strictly focused on telecommunications, she emphasises that the experience at Andorra Telecom “has been an excellent complement to my training”
