Mobile phone users can control their spending while roaming
Andorra Telecom has introduced a data usage limit of 50 euros while abroad, which you can easily modify through the app, on the website or by calling 115
Andorra Telecom has set a 50 euro data consumption limit abroad to avoid nasty surprises for mobile phone users on contracts. Once this limit is reached, the customer will receive a text message and will not be able to continue browsing. If you want to reactivate your data, you can do so from the app's customer area, via the website or by contacting the customer service centre free of charge on 301115 when calling from abroad.
This limit has been applied to all our mobile phone customers, with the exception of those who have a much higher than average usage, around 1,500. The aim is to avoid any nasty surprises - a higher than usual bill due to data roaming charges. ‘Despite the fact that there are users whose tariffs include data in Spain, France and Portugal, when outside these countries there may be concerns about connecting to the Internet. So we want to make sure that our customers have complete peace of mind with regard to data roaming expenses, said company spokesman Carles Casadevall.
Users can also modify their roaming spending limit depending on how much data they think they will need by visiting andorratelecom.ad or via the user app. Carlos Casadevall explained how important it is for users to be able to directly modify their consumption limit digitally. ‘It’s a very simple procedure, and gives users a lot of flexibility depending on their needs. We’re working hard to make it possible for as many procedures as possible to be carried out via the app or the website’.
On the other hand, it is also an option for mobile phone users to restrict their use of data to zone 2, which does not include European Union countries or the United States.
